A few months ago, my roommate and I were discussing how customer service in this country has really hit an all time low. Common courtesy, kindness, and pride in our work just seems to be vanishing. Not only that but it seems like no one can think outside of the box anymore. In the midst of this discouragement with society, we went to Mimi's Cafe for dinner. Our waiter was Zach. He was the complete antithesis of all that we were seeing in society. He was courteous, friendly, kind, helpful, adorable, and genuine. He, in our books, went above and beyond. We were so impressed with him, that days later, we were still talking about him.
A few weeks later, we were somewhere else when we were given this level of service again, and we immediately thought, "Just like Zach!" This was the birth of the Zach of the day award.
Zach is our bar. He probably doesn't even know; we are kicking ourselves for not acknowledging such tremendousness, but we decided that we would forever be on the lookout for other Zachs, and we would let them know.
SO... If you are reading this, it's because we thought you are tremendous too. Thank you for your fine service and for having pride in yourself and the job you do!! You make our world better for being in it, and you've made our day!!
Thank you!!
Please feel free to pass the Zach of the day card on or print some of your own to give out. Also, leave a comment about when you got the award.
